Attribute

Attributes are reusable data fields used to capture additional information for inventory items, classifications, assets, and item templates within Enterprise Asset Management.

Attributes help organizations define flexible and configurable metadata based on operational, business, or industry-specific requirements.

For example, attributes can be used to store details such as:

• Capacity

• Voltage

• Temperature Range

• Weight

• Pressure Rating

• Warranty Period

Configured attributes can later be referenced inside classifications and item definitions across inventory modules.

What you see on the screen

The Attributes page allows users to create, manage, search, filter, update, and delete reusable inventory attributes used across classifications, item templates, and inventory definitions within Enterprise Asset Management.

The page displays all configured attributes along with details such as attribute name, abbreviation, data type, unit of measurement, and mapped organization/site information.

Attributes | Basic Details

Label	Action	Description / Example
Search	Enter a keyword to search attributes	Search configured attributes using values such as Attribute Name, Abbreviation, or Data Type.
Filter	Click the filter icon to apply advanced filters	Apply filter conditions using fields such as Attribute Name, Abbreviation, Data Type, or Unit of Measurement. Users can configure conditions, add multiple filters, save filter configurations, and apply filters to refine attribute records.
Create Attribute	Click to create a new attribute	Opens the Create Attribute page to configure a reusable inventory attribute.
Column Details
Attribute Name	View only field	Displays the configured attribute name. Example: Floor Area
Abbreviation	View only field	Displays the short code or abbreviation of the attribute. Example: FLA
Data Type	View only field	Displays the configured data type for the attribute. Example: Numeric
Unit of Measurement	View only field	Displays the configured unit associated with the attribute. Example: Square Foot - ft²
Org / Site	View only field	Displays the organization or site associated with the attribute. Example: Google
Actions
Edit	Click the edit icon to modify the attribute	Allows users to update existing attribute details and configurations.
Delete	Click the delete icon to remove the attribute	Deletes the selected attribute from the inventory configuration.
Bulk Edit
Select Record	Select one or multiple records using the checkbox	Allows bulk selection of attribute records for deletion or management actions.

Add Attribute

• To create an attribute, click Create Attribute located at the top-right corner of the page.

• The Create Attribute page allows users to define reusable attributes that can be referenced inside classifications and item definitions.

Create Attribute | Basic Details

Label	Action	Description/ Example
Attribute Name	Enter the attribute name	Specify the name of the attribute. Example: Floor Area
Abbreviation / Code *	Enter the attribute code	Enter a unique short code or abbreviation for the attribute. Example: FLA Note: Only uppercase letters and numbers are allowed (no spaces or special characters)
Organization	Select from the drop-down	Select the organization for which the attribute is applicable.
Location / Site	Select from the drop-down	Select the respective site or location mapped to the selected organization. Click here to know more.
Data Type	Select from the drop-down	Select the type of data the attribute should capture. Example: Numeric, Alphanumeric, Text, or Boolean
Unit of Measurement	Select from the drop-down	Select the unit associated with the attribute value for numeric data types. Example: Square Meter - m², Kilogram - kg, or Volt – V, etc.
Linear Type	Select from the drop-down	Define whether the attribute supports linear asset measurements. Example: Yes or No
Inherited From	Select from the drop-down	Select an existing parent attribute or configuration from which values or behavior should be inherited. Example: Base Equipment Attributes
Apply Down Hierarchy	Enable or disable the toggle	When enabled, the attribute is automatically inherited by child classifications and related hierarchy levels.
Continue	Enable or disable the toggle	Allows the attribute to capture continuous or ongoing values where applicable. Example: Continuous meter readings or runtime values.

• Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

• Unit of Measurement is enabled only for supported numeric data types.

• Location values are filtered based on the selected organization.
