Domain

The Domain section allows users to create and manage domain records used within the Inventory Settings module. Users can define domain names, assign unique domain codes, specify the domain type, and maintain descriptions for inventory-related configurations.

What you see on the screen

The Domain page displays the list of configured domains along with options to search, filter, add, edit, and delete records. Users can also perform bulk actions using the selection checkbox available in the grid.

Search

Enter keywords in the search field

Used to search domain records using values such as Domain Name or Domain Code.

Filter

Select the filter icon beside the search field

Used to apply advanced filter conditions to the domain list. Available options include Domain Name, Description, and Domain / Code.

Column Details

Domain / Code

View-only field; no actions can be taken.

Displays the unique domain code. Example: DOM123

Domain Name

View-only field; no actions can be taken.

Displays the configured domain name Example: Domain Demo

Domain Type

View-only field; no actions can be taken.

Displays the selected domain type. Example: Meter, Generic

Description

Displays additional information about the domain

Edit Icon

Select the edit icon

Used to modify an existing domain record.

Delete Icon

Select the delete icon

Used to delete a selected domain record.

Selection Checkbox

Select one or more records

Used to perform bulk delete operations.

Add Domain

  • To create a new domain, select the Add Domain option available at the top right corner of the Domain page.

  • The Add Domain window allows users to define domain details, including the domain name, code, type, and description.

Domain Name

Enter the domain name in the field

Specifies the name of the domain to be created. This field is mandatory.

Example: Electrical Meter Domain

Domain / Code

Enter a unique domain code

Defines the unique identifier/code for the domain. This field is mandatory and should not contain duplicate values.

Example: DOM001

Domain Type

Select a domain type from the dropdown list

Used to categorize the domain based on the inventory requirement. This field is mandatory.

Option Includes:

  • Meter

  • Generic

  • Asset

  • Job

Description

Enter additional details about the domain

Used to provide supporting information for the purpose of the domain configuration. Example: Domain used for meter-related inventory configurations

Once added, click Submit to create the domain record and save the configuration into the system.
