# Item Group

The Item Group section is used to configure and manage **item categorization** **groups** for inventory and asset-related operations. Item Groups help organize items based on category types, operational modules, and service classifications.

Item Groups are referenced across multiple inventory and asset management workflows, including:

* Purchase Order
* Work Order
* Asset Management
* Incident Management
* Item Templates
* Inventory transactions

These configurations help standardize item classification and improve inventory organization across enterprise operations.

**Examples:**

* Material Items
* Service Items
* Tool Categories

Users can:

* Search configured item groups
* Apply filter conditions
* Create new item groups
* Edit existing item groups
* Delete item groups
* Perform bulk selection operations
