Item Group

The Item Group section is used to configure and manage item categorization groups for inventory and asset-related operations. Item Groups help organize items based on category types, operational modules, and service classifications.

Item Groups are referenced across multiple inventory and asset management workflows, including:

  • Purchase Order

  • Work Order

  • Asset Management

  • Incident Management

  • Item Templates

  • Inventory transactions

These configurations help standardize item classification and improve inventory organization across enterprise operations.

What you see on the screen

The Item Group page displays all configured item groups along with search, filtering, pagination, and management actions.

Users can:

  • Search configured item groups

  • Apply filter conditions

  • Create new item groups

  • Edit existing item groups

  • Delete item groups

  • Perform bulk selection operations

Enter keywords in the search field

Search configured item groups using Item Group Name, Item Group Code, Category Type, or Modules. Example: Electrical Consumables

Filter

Select the filter icon

Apply advanced filter conditions to narrow item group records. Fields: Item Group Name, Item Group Code, Category Type, and Modules.

Add Item Group

Select the button

Opens the Add Item Group configuration window.

Column Details

Code

Displays the configured item group code

Shows the unique code associated with the item group. Example: ITMGRP001

Name

Displays the configured item group name

Shows the configured item group name. Example: Electrical Consumables

Category Type

Displays the selected category type

Shows the configured category classification. Example: Material

Modules

Displays associated modules

Shows the modules linked with the item group. Example: Purchase Order, Asset Management, Service

Is Service

Displays the service toggle status

Indicates whether the item group is configured as a service item group.

Description

Displays additional item group details

Shows supporting information related to the item group configuration. Example: Used for grouping material items related to maintenance operations.

Action Icons

Edit

Select the edit icon

Used to modify an existing item group configuration.

Delete

Select the delete icon

Used to delete the selected item group configuration.

Bulk Edit

Select one or more records

Used to perform bulk selection operations on item group records.

Add Item Group

The Add Item Group window is used to configure item-group details, including the item-group name, code, category type, associated modules, and service classification.

Item Group Name *

Enter the item group name

Specify the name of the item group. Example: Electrical Consumables

Item Group Code *

Enter the item group code

Specify the unique code for the item group. Example: ITMGRP001

Category Type

Select a category type from the dropdown

Defines the classification type for the item group. Available options include Material, Service, and Tool.

Modules

Select one or more modules from the dropdown

Defines the modules to which the item group configuration applies. Available options include Incidents, Purchase Order, Work Order, and Asset Management.

Is Service

Enable or disable the toggle button

Used to identify whether the item group belongs to service-related operations.

Description

Enter additional details

Provide a brief description of the item group usage or purpose.

Example: Used for grouping material items related to maintenance operations.

Once added, click Next to proceed to the Add Code configuration step.

Add Code | Basic Details

The Add Code page is used to associate commodity/item codes with the configured Item Group. Users can search for and select item records to be mapped to the selected Item Group configuration.

Select the required code from the available list to associate it with the Item Group configuration.

After completing the configuration, click Save to save the configured Item Group.
